Important Information:

Dear Hurdy Gurdy Friends,

Since 1975 I have been organising hurdy gurdy workshops. Everything had been organised for this year's Lissberger Leiertage and we were looking forward to celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Musical Instrument Museum Lissberg with you all and generally having a fun weekend with music, dance and being together in such a magical place.
The corona virus is changing all of our lives and as we cannot foresee how the situation will be at the end of May, we have decided to cancel the Lissberger Leiertage 2020.

Even though we here in Frankfurt are all healthy and well and we certainly hope that is the case with you all, we want to do our bit in helping to slow down the infection rate and the spread of the virus.

Regarding the Lissberger Leierkurse at the end of September, it is too early to be able to say whether these workshops will take place or not. We hope that by then it will be possible for groups of people to meet without risk of infection. We will contact you at a later date regarding these workshops.

We look forward to meeting you all at the latest next year after the corona crisis has ended and to celebrating the various anniversaries with you then.

Stay safe and remain healthy. All the very best,

Kurt Reichmann + Team

Invitation to the Lissberger Leiertage 2020

Dear Hurdy Gurdy Friends,

I have the pleasure of inviting you to this year’s Lissberger Leiertage.

This year we would like to take you on a another journey beyond the world of drone instruments. We will be taking a closer look at different zithers from around the world: Mongolia, Madagaskar and the Ukraine. There will be a small presentation of zithers and related instruments from the Musical Instrument Museum Lissberg.

Our team of tutors from last year is back again with the support of a further tutor: we are pleased to welcome Christian Mohr Levison from Denmark to our team! Workshop tutors are: Alexander Bloch, Gerd Ganz, Nicolas Koch Sims, Isabel Kraft, Scott Marshall, Christian Mohr Levison, Peter Streng and Ron Winkler.

The "Alte Schule" will be available to us again during the Lissberger Leiertage. The "Bürgerstiftung Alte Schule Lißberg" is offering a limited number of beds in shared accommodation in the building next door. Please contact them directly if you wish to book a bed (contact: Eleonore Betz / e-mail: ellen1_betz@yahoo.de). Accommodation costs are not included in the workshop fee.

You can look forward to a great and inexpensive breakfast buffet with freshly baked break and also the possibility to order inexpensive warm lunchtime and evening meals (there will also be vegetarian options) from an Italian restaurant in Ortenberg.  The cost of the meals is not included in the workshop fee.

Below you will find information regarding workshop times and fees. Information on the indiviual workshops and evening performances and concerts to follow soon.

Regards,

Kurt Reichmann + Team

As last year, there will be a great and inexpensive breakfast buffet available with freshly baked bread and also the possibility to order warm lunchtime and evening meals from a local Italian restaurant (vegetarian options available). Meals are not included in the workshop fee.

As there is only a butcher in Lissberg, anyone wishing to self-cater will need to bring some provisions along for the weekend.
